WA Masters Squash (WAMS) is an incorporated body whose aim to provide squash and social events for existing and former squash players over the age of 35.
WAMS is governed by a constitution and run by a committee of 6-7. WAMS was formed 42 years ago by a small group of players who were interested in providing age group based events for older players. This has been the case ever since with WAMS filling the role of Masters Committee for Squash WA>
In June this year (2023) Squash WA indicated that they would be forming a Masters Committee with the intention of running masters events through the Squash WA Office and administration. This was because WA Masters squash were an incorporated body and they saw this as a conflict with their aims and pathways. It is not known at this stage what that will look like.
In the mean time WAMS will continue to run all the events it has for the last 42 years.
